The Fault In Our Stars by John Green
The Fault In Our Stars is a wonderful novel written by an American author John Green. The protaganist is a girl named Hazel Grace who has stage 4 thyroid cancer with metastasis. The novel revolves around her life and how she falls in love with a boy named Augustus Waters who has lost his leg to cancer. The novel isn't like other romantic novels or novels which are about people dealing with cancer. Mr.Green has shown the real story of people dealing with cancer with the help of fictional characters. In this novel he has wonderfully shown how cancer patients want to enjoy their life like normal people but most of the times they fail to do so. Cancer patients also fall in love,enjoy playing video games and do crazy things like any normal person but most of the times they are potrayed as sick and serious people who either want to die or want to get cured so that they can enjoy their life but in TFIOS they do all these things even though they are dealing with cancer. John Green dosen't gives the novel a happy ending but a ending which can bring both happy and sad tears to the reader's eyes. While I was reading the novel there were a few lines which made me burst into tears and it took me a couple of minutes to calm down. The novel also potrays true love. There are a few instances when Hazel and Gus show their love for each other in a small but significant way. Thus Mr.Green has used TFIOS to show how cancer destroys the lives of people who suffer from it or the lives of people who are attached who are close and dear to the patient. .The Fault In Our Starsdosen't haves a normal ending unlike most of the romantic novels but it has a ending which will leave us in shock.Thus TFIOs is an excellent novel which has everything a teenager looks for in a novel these days.
